Rachel M. Post is the artist and sole creator behind her wearable art forms, handspun and hand-dyed yarn, and ink-and-watercolor illustrations. Drawing on the materials of the earth, she infuses each piece with thoughtful design, transforming natural elements into forms that satisfy the human desire for adornment.

Based in Southern Oregon, Rachel has been creating contemporary jewelry for more than 35 years. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Photography and a Master’s degree in Art Education from California State University, Northridge. Her artistic background spans Art History, Fiber Arts, Pottery, Painting, Drawing, and Jewelry Fabrication, giving her a deeply rooted and well-rounded foundation.

Rachel is a published artist whose work has appeared in Lark Crafts publications and various craft magazines.

      • Jewelry Process:
Rachel creates her jewelry using traditional metalsmithing techniques, including soldering, sawing, cold connections, and forging. Every component; chains, ear wires and posts, head pins, bezels, and clasps are entirely handmade. Each link, post, and wire is shaped and soldered from solid wire, reflecting her commitment to craftsmanship.

Attention to detail and quality is central to Rachel’s work. Her freeform bezel settings are meticulously crafted on both the front and back; each one is hand cut on the reverse side to reveal the stone from every angle. Nature and organic forms inspire her expressive, wearable designs, resulting in jewelry that feels both artful and alive.

      • Lapidary:

In 2013, Rachel began learning to cut and polish her own stones, a skill that allows her design process to be completely unrestricted.

      • Handspun and Hand Dyed Yarn:

Rachel began spinning yarn in 2005 and quickly fell in love with the craft. She set out to create truly one-of-a-kind yarns for knitters, crocheters, and weavers; materials that would inspire creativity and elevate any handmade project.

“I strive to create yarns of the highest quality. Commercial yarns often lack that special something. I offer yarns that are vibrant in color and incredibly soft against the skin. Merino and Shaniko wool are my absolute favorite fibers to spin and dye. Creating with yarn should be joyful; whether you’re knitting, crocheting, or felting. My goal is to provide yarns that keep your love of making fresh and exciting.”

      •  Design Inspirations: Rachel draws inspiration from the simple, organic elements of nature. She surrounds herself with natural forms and principles, creating a sense of balance between the modern world we all inhabit and the more harmonious one she envisions.

"Nature is always evolving. Constantly changing and becoming reborn."
