Hand cut and polished stone and shell. Hand formed, sawed, and soldered....

Inspirations: 
I created a mid century inspired, modernist style sterling metalwork pendant to highlight these beautiful treasures I found on the West and East Coast.

Materials:
Sterling Silver 
Stone, cabochon: Jasper from the Central Coast - Clam shell from the North Carolina Coast. 
Necklace: Sterling Silver 

Technique:  

Stone and shell: I hand cut and polished these beautiful treasures that I found on the West and East Coast beaches. 
Pendant: I hand cut the sterling silver setting and individually soldered sterling elements to the settings in sections. All hand cut and formed sterling elements. An abstract wave and pebble pattern was hand cut on the back of the settings of the pendants. Hand formed and soldered sterling clasp.
All connections are soldered for strength and longevity. 
Patina/oxidation has been added to the pendant. 

Measurements:
Necklace -  20  inches in length - Sterling Silver 2.8mm patterned oval chain
Pendant length: a touch over 3 1/8 inches in length. 3/4 of an inch at the widest part.
